Carol Goertzel
Board Member
Carol has been involved in social services targeting vulnerable low-income women, children, and families as founder and Executive Director of the Lutheran Settlement House Women’s Program in Philadelphia; Director of Resident Services for the Philadelphia Housing Authority; and CEO of PathWays PA in Pennsylvania. She has been a member of several boards and consulted on organizational development before having the pleasure of joining Vashon Youth and Family Services as a board member and former executive director. Carol was an organizer of the Working Group on Battered Women that assisted the development of the first laws prosecuting domestic violence perpetrators and has been fortunate to be granted many awards for the organizations with which she worked, including Advocate of the Year by the Child Welfare League of America. Currently, Ms. Goertzel is an appointed member of the King County Children and Youth Advisory Board.
