Drumroll Please! Welcome to our new website

We are so excited to launch this new website today, May 27, 2016!

Welcome visitor! We created this website with you in mind. We want to provide a tool for you to - first and foremost - find out how to get the services you need. We also want you to have information about who we are as an agency, what are our qualifications individually and as a group, and how we live and work with you in this unique and beautiful community.

As a real-world example of the amazing nature of the Vashon Community, we are excited to share with you the names of people who stepped up to help us create this new site. It is a huge step for us and we could not have done it without the following people and organizations:

Designer: Tristen Gardner came along at just the right time, wanting to build something new and needing someone to do it for. Tristen designed this entire site at no charge to us - truly a stunning gift. We will try not to mess it up. Laura Rollins, our amazing Fundraising and Event coordinator who keeps every ball in the air all the time, and has an absolutely amazing eye for design and color: you definitely rock. And Dan Schueler of Island Image, who helped us keep our old workhorse website going for so long, thank you for your friendship and support!

Site Photographers: Abe Vanselow volunteered for us and took some of the amazing pictures you see on the Counseling and Playspace pages. He may be young, but he's one to watch. Jennifer Terp took the staff and board headshots, coming back again and again to make sure we looked as good as possible. Dawn Stief, Martin Halliwell, Laura Rollins, Joe Yarkin, and Julia Akoury-Thiel, and staff members who snapped program photos over the years didn't necessarily know they were shooting for us, but we are so thankful you have let us benefit from your beautiful art!

Editors: Board members and staff who helped out in the last week before launch to scrub this thing shiny: Tink Campbell, Rhoda Karusaitis, Sara Jane Schoesbeck, Marshall Murray, Heather Youngs, Catherina Willard, Susan Day, Elise Morrill. Thank you!

We hope you enjoy the site. We have even bigger plans going forward including updating information via the new blog and bringing online registration in the near future. Keep checking back to see what we are doing! We welcome your comments. You can add a comment below or reach out to us at info@vyfs.org.
